So begins another year! Though I'm not one for making resolutions, I like to make goals when this season comes around. I don't always follow through with them, but it's not for lack of trying. Or... maybe it is?

Well anyway, this year I've decided I need to experiment with my artwork. Not in different types of media necessarily (I've done that enough in the past few years to last me awhile), but with styles and mark-making. I haven't painted – I mean, really painted – in YEARS, and I desperately want to get back into it. I don't sketch nearly as much as I should, either. I had a mentor once that encouraged me to sketch at least once a day, and journal it by dating each sketch in one large book, then archiving it annually. It would be a major undertaking for me, but it's something that is always at the back of my mind. I'm going to give it a go this year... But that's not the goal I'm referring to.

The one goal I've made for myself is to create 50 self portraits in 100 days. (It was originally going to be 50 days, but I have to take into consideration that some mediums take longer than others to complete, and life gets in the way at times. So 100 days should be plenty.)
